Andreas or Andrew Steigerwalt was born on 20 Feb 1766 in Floersbach, Hessen, Hanau, Germany. He died on 22 Feb 1822 in , Berks, Pa. He was buried in Albany, Berks, Pa, JruslmRedChr Cem.

Andreas came to Philadelphia with his family in 1767 when about 1 year old. In 1794, with brother Carl Otto, purchased land in what is now East Penn Twp; Carbon County, from Josiah Thomas. Sold his share to Carl Otto in 1797. He continued to be a resident of the township for some time thereafter.

I, Andreas (Steierwalt?) of Lynn Twp. Lehigh County...Hereby bequeath to Johannes Nungesser, my servant, the sum of eight hundred dollars...he is to have this money three years after my death...to my second servant, Thomas Moor, two hundred dollars, payable five years after my death...Georg (Fusselman?) is to keep such money...and collect interest on it...until the said Thomas Moor is twenty-one years old...then...give the money Moor. However should...Moor die before...without heirs...then his mother is to have it...if his mother is no longer living, then his step-brother Johannes Nungesser is to have it... Thirdly, my maidservant, Hanna (Herbstern?) is to have her dowry from my estate, as I promised her, when she reaches the age of eighteen. Such is my will...(Done?) in the presence of these witnesses, today, the 27th day of August, 1817...[signed] Andreas (Steigerwalt) [witnesses] Johannes (Schmidt?) [plus one more signature which is illegible]. According to an early church record he was admitted to membership by the rite of confirmation in Allemangel Lutheran Church, Albany Township, Berks County on March 24, 1780. His name appears on the membership list of Ben Salem Church in 1797, and on the assessment list of the township in 1808.
Andreas married Susanna Fusselman in , , Pa. Susanna died in 1828. She was buried in Stony Run, Berks, Pa, Friedens Cem.
